About the Owners
Co-Owner and Pharmacist in Charge Stacey Swartz
Stacey Swartz has been practicing pharmacy for nearly 10 years since earning her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. In addition to her years of education, her pharmacy training includes clinical rotations in a hospital pharmacy, mail order pharmacy, the FDA and retail pharmacy. Stacey also completed a residency rotation and worked for several years at the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), a national trade association for independent community pharmacies, but knew her calling was to be a practicing pharmacist, not work in an association long-term. Stacey lives in Del Ray with her dog, Max.
Co-Owner Barbara Hayward
Barbara Hayward, techs at the pharmacy nights and weekends, is also the vice president of the Management Institute at NCPA, providing education to help pharmacists get into ownership and successfully run their businesses. While working with Stacey at NCPA, Barbara encouraged her to open her own pharmacy and agreed to partner with her. A lifelong animal lover, Barbara loves to make sure the pharmacy serves not only people, but their pets as well, with an expanded selection of pet medications, information on proper dosage and even flavoring for pet medications to make them more palatable. Barbara and her pups Duke and Rufus live just down the road in Mt. Vernon.
